Gonda: Saraswati Devi Nari Gyanasthali PG College, Gonda, organised a series of competitions to mark the birth anniversary of its founder, the late Dr Krishna Sinha, who made a significant contribution to the promotion of girls’ education.
The programme formally began with Principal Dr Aarti Srivastava, Manager Dr Anandita Rajat and members of the college staff paying floral tribute to Dr Krishna Sinha.
A mehendi competition, rakhi-making competition, solo singing competition and Hindi and English poetry recitation competitions were organised during the event, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and talent.
In the mehendi competition, 32 students participated. Fatima secured first place, Bushra Ismail stood second, while Arya Tiwari won third place. Shraddha Gangwar and Alisha received consolation prizes. The judging panel comprised Dr Seema Srivastava, Dr Mousami Singh and Kanchanlata Pandey.
The rakhi-making competition saw participation from 15 students. Kashish Roy won first place, followed by Sanjana Jaiswal in second and Zara Ali in third. Seema Verma and Archana Chauhan received consolation prizes. Anu Upadhyay, Sunita Pandey, Sunita Mishra and Sushma Singh served as judges.
In the solo singing competition, 16 students participated. Mahi Tripathi secured first place, Anshika Kaushal came second and Saumya Soni stood third. Simran Shukla and Isha Srivastava received consolation prizes. The judging panel included Kiran Pandey, Vartika Srivastava and Manvendra Srivastava.
The final event was the Hindi and English poetry recitation competition, in which nine students participated. In Hindi poetry, Niharika secured first place, Kashish second and Sangya third. In English poetry recitation, Aastha Dwivedi secured the top position. Dr Harpreet Kaur judged the English poetry competition, while Dr Amita Srivastava was on the judging panel for Hindi poetry.
At the conclusion of the competitions, Principal Dr Aarti Srivastava and Manager Dr Anandita Rajat presented certificates and prizes to the winners.
Dr Neetu Singh, Dr Ashu Tripathi, Dr Rashmi Dwivedi, Dr Sadhna Gupta, Dr Vimla, Dr Kumkum Singh, Himanshi Mishra, Suvendu Verma, Monika Srivastava, Samta Dhankani and others contributed to the successful organisation of the programme.
